A monastery-focused journey through Hemis, Thiksey, Diskit and more, for travelers drawn to Ladakh's Buddhist heritage as much as its landscapes.

Welcome to Ladakh. You'll land at Leh Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, one of the highest operational airports in the world at over 3,500 meters. After transfer to the hotel, the day is kept free for acclimatization.
Begin your spiritual journey at Shey Palace and Monastery, where a 12-foot Maitreya Buddha statue is the main draw. Nearby, Thiksey Monastery resembles Lhasa's Potala Palace closely enough to be nicknamed Little Tibet, while Hemis Monastery, the second oldest and richest in Ladakh, rounds out the day.
After the monasteries closer to Leh, today heads west to Spituk, Phyang, Basgo and Lamayuru monasteries, with an overnight stay in Lamayuru.
The return to Leh takes in the remaining monasteries on the western route.
A final day of monastery visits closer to town, including Stok Monastery and Shanti Stupa.
Your spiritual journey through Ladakh comes to a peaceful close today.
Minimum 2 people required. 3-star properties only.
Cab, hotel/camp stay, MAP plan meals, monastery tickets, welcome drink on arrival, 6 breakfasts and 5 dinners, airport pickup and drop.
Why This Package
Ladakh is often called Little Tibet for a reason. This itinerary is built around its monasteries, from Shey and Thiksey to the western monasteries around Lamayuru.
